Abstract
In 8 rabbits the Ca content of the diet was supplied by CaCO3 while the P was furnished by dicalcium or tricalcium phosphate or Na2HP04. The optimum conditions for simultaneous absorption of Ca and P seemed to be when there was not enough Ca to neutralize the HC1 in the gastric juice. High conc. of P in the blood was usually associated with an "acid" state. The conc. of Ca and P in the blood were resultants of the factors of absorption, excretion, endogenous formation and fixation.
