Abstract
Intense vasoconstriction or ischemic reactions occurring during the use of methylsergide were reviewed, and another case ingesting both methysergide and ergotamine, without known antecedent vascular or systemic disease, is reported. The ergotamine and methyserglde were not discontinued at the first complaints of trouble. The ischemic phenomenon was extremely severe, leading to exploratory arterlotomies, with the finding of obstructive arterial constriction. Skin sloughing, muscle necrosis, joint restriction, and ischemic neuritis ensued. Virtually complete recovery occurred during 2 years of observation.
