Abstract
A population of Russian wild ryegrass (USDA P.I. 206684) contained 12% dwarf plants which were about one-tenth the size of normal plants and failed to form seed. Two heterozygous plants were selfed and crossed and the segregating populations studied. No selfed seed was obtained but the hybrid population segregated according to a 3:1 ratio. The dwarf character was classed as being monogenic and recessive, The gene symbol dw1 has been proposed for this dwarf character. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
