Abstract
Much information was gathered relating to both the initial pathogenesis of diabetes, i.e., the insulin deficiency and its resulting hyperglycemia, and to the pathogenesis of the complications of diabetes, including both the atherosclerosis and the microangiopathy. This review touches briefly on the heredity and classification of the various forms of the disease and goes into further depth concerning possible etiologies of the aforementioned complications. This publication has 27 references indexed in Scilit:
