Abstract
The frequencies of HL‐A antigens and genes were determined in 386 unrelated individuals of a German population. The numbers of HL‐A phenotypes observed were compared with the numbers expected. The observed haplotype frequencies of 123 parents were compared with the frequencies estimated from the phenotypes of the 386 people. The results obtained from the present study are compared with those reported from Berlin, Essen, Austria, Denmark and Norway. The present data support the “two series” theory for the HL‐A system and demonstrate linkage disequilibrium between genes of the two series. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
