Abstract
The electrophoretic distr. of proteins in 88 plasmas from 32 patients with rheumatoid arthritis was detd. An elevation of the concns. of alpha1-, alpha2- and gamma-globulins and of fibrinogen and a lowering of the albumin were observed in active rheumatoid arthritis. A tendency is apparent for the alpha-globulins to rise early in the disease followed by an elevation of the gamma-globulins. Reversal to a normal electrophoretic pattern may occur during remission of the activity of arthritis. Keywords
