Abstract
The analysis of second-order tracking loops, with an arbitrary phase detector characteristic is carried out, for large detuning, by the quasi-stationary approach. The main feature of this technique lies in the simple mathematical tool which allows a direct physical insight into the acquisition behavior and yields closed expressions for the time and range acquisition. Keywords
