Abstract
Experiments on several Y-Co samples near the 4:3 composition show an onset to ferromagnetic order below 10K after an appropriate heat treatment of the samples. The ferromagnetic order is strongly suppressed with the application of hydrostatic pressures of a few kilobars. The results suggest a sensitive preparation dependence of the samples for superconductivity. The superconducting transition temperature as derived from AC susceptibility measurements, has a positive pressure dependence of 0.10+or-0.01 K kbar-1.Keywords
