Nonradiative energy transfer in Nd:YAG—evidence for the correlated placement of ions

Abstract
Analysis of data from Nd:YAG indicates a substantial experimental divergence from the standard theoretical results predicted for nonradiative energy transfer. A new model for correlated ion placement in the crystal is shown to completely explain the discrepancy.Keywords
