Abstract
We have measured the lifetimes of () in heliumlike fluorine in a search for the nuclear-spin-induced quenching of the state. Both fine-structure decays () were observed following foil excitation of a 15-MeV F beam. Within experimental error (±10%) the two states have the same lifetime (10 nsec) in agreement with theoretical decay rates.
