Abstract
Lifetimes of the decay and of the decay have been measured in the two-electron ions and . The measured lifetimes are nsec for and nsec for . The lifetimes are compared with a calculation that considers relativistic corrections and hyperfine-structure effects. It is found that for , hyperfine effects contribute appreciably to the lifetime. For we obtain nsec.
