Abstract
A case report is presented concerning a longstanding, juvenile-type diabetic with severe vascular involvement and severe diarrhea and steatorrhea. In spite of this, light and electron microscopic investigations of a peroral jejunal biopsy did not show any signs of diabetic microanglopathy, to, thickening of the basement membrane of the subepithelial capillaries. It appears that diabetic microanglopathy can be ruled out as an immediate etiologic factor in diabetic diarrhea.
