Abstract
Muscle extracts containing lactic acid forming enzymes showed no change in their glycogen or lactic acid content in those cases in which pancreatic extracts, with or without proteolytic ac-tivity, had been added. Esterification of phosphate even in the presence of fluoride is prevented and there is a small increase in free phosphate. These results indicate that the inhibition of lactic acid formation by the pancreatic factor occurs as a consequence of the prevention of the formation of hexosephosphate. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
