Abstract
Evidence is presented to show that the saline bleeding time test and the whole blood coagulation time test measure different phenomena in swine. The former test is primarily a measure of the condition of the blood vessel, the latter test is a measure of the efficiency of the clotting process. A blood vessel defect must exist in bleeder swine, in addition to the previously observed coagulation defect, for the saline bleeding time of the animals is abnormally prolonged. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
