Abstract
As the chair of an institutional review board, I have arrived at the same conclusion as Horng et al. (Dec. 26 issue)1: much of the attention devoted to consent forms could be better directed to other aspects of the informed-consent process. Horng et al. did not address the role of the interview, but my experience suggests that a properly conducted interview accomplishes more than a well-written form. Keywords
