Abstract
Summary: The paper indicates some of the geological consequences of the compaction of muddy sediments under the pressures which are set up in the course of deposition, and supplements the experimental observations recorded by Mr. A. W. Skempton (pp. 119-35 of this volume). This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
