Abstract
Alborixin is an ionophorous antibiotic of the nigericin group isolated from cultures of a strain of Streptomyces albus. It is active against gram-positive bacteria and is coccidiostatic, but it is very toxic. The antibacterial principle was extracted with organic solvent from the mycelium, isolated in crystalline form and named alborixin. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
