Abstract
Total muon capture rates on nuclei are calculated for and . The distribution of muon capture strength is calculated with use of random-phase-approximation and Tamm-Dancoff-approximation methods in a response-function approach. The randomphase-approximation calculation is in excellent agreement with data.
