Abstract
The question of the existence of multiple precipitation bands in single antibody-antigen systems is re-studied under conditions which are of relatively low sensitivity. Most of the experiments were made with bovine serum albumin and the homologous horse antiserum and maximally sensitive micro-diffusion controls showed that they should contain less than 1/10,000 impurities. Under such conditions secondary lines could be demonstrated at excess of antibody or antigen, but not at equivalence. The lines show the phenomenon of (lateral) convergence and are considered the equivalent of the Liesegang phenomenon. Keywords
