Abstract
A pentameric spacer-containing glyceryl-ribitol phosphate structure 2 was synthesized using a solid-phase protocol. The H-phosphonate 16, synthesized from a D-ribitol derivative and (S)-1,2-O-isopropylideneglycerol, was used as monomer. Compound 2 is a simplified fragment of Haemophilus influenzae capsular polysaccharide, where the glyceryl part replaces the original ribosyl moiety. Keywords
