Abstract
15 states in have been studied by means of the reaction induced by a 17-MeV beam from the Argonne tandem Van de Graaff. The proton angular distributions led to the identification of one state (the isobaric analog of the ground state) and 7 states. The excitation energies of the states are compared with those predicted by a shell-model calculation which assumed a configuration. The differential cross sections for populating states in by transferring an pair with 0 or 0 + 2 units of angular momenta are compared with similar cross sections in neighboring nuclei to investigate possible regularities in this mass region. The decay of the and states was determined by studying coincidences associated with the reaction. The decay of the states shows a definite pattern which is compared with one based on a selection rule involving the signatures of the wave functions describing the states.
