Abstract
Intra-muscular injections of 3,000,000 and 6,000,000 units of procaine penicillin-G were administered to two groups of healthy cows. Time that penicillin persisted in milk was variable in low-producing cows (lasted up to 108 hr.), whereas it was not detected in milkfrom high-producing cows after 36 hr. As dosage increased time penicillin appeared increased. The test for penicillin was negative after 48 hr. for all animals receiving the low dosage. Time penicillin persisted in milk of high-producing cows in low and high dosage groups was 24 and 36 hr. respectively. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
