Abstract
This study is confined to a representative small inland lake. The most representative samples of bathing beach water were obtained in 5 ft. of water as compared with those taken nearer the shore. Colon indices and 37[degree]C total counts did not correlate as well with bathing loads as did streptococcus indices. The importance of repeated sampling in passing judgment on a beach is stressed. Since conditions at the beach under study proved similar to those in indoor and outdoor pools, the need for controlled bathing loads is emphasized. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
