Abstract
A case of subacute bacterial endocarditis caused by Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans and ending fatally, is presented. To the author''s knowledge this is the first reported case. The close resemblance of this organism to Hemophilus aphrophilus is noted. Therapy was effective according to in vitro serum antibiotic tube dilution studies. Embolization occurred and led to the patient''s death. The finding of plasma cells in the peripheral blood and of atypical plasma cells in the bone marrow is noted. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
