Collision Cross Sections of 400- to 1800-keVH3+Ions in Collisions withH2andN2Gases and Li Vapor

Abstract
Cross-section measurements of the dissociation modes H3+ → (3H and H + H2), H + H2+, H+ + 2H, H+ + H2, H + 2H+, H+ + H2+, and 3H+ are reported for H3+ energies between 400 and 1800 keV in targets of H2, N2, and Li. For the H2 target, comparisons are made with available previous measurements of H, H+, H2, and H2+ production cross sections at lower energies. Cross-section measurements for 270- to 1200-keV H2H2+, H + H+, and 2H+ are also reported.
