Abstract
Admn. of massive doses of a growth-promoting fraction of anterior pituitary failed to counteract the growth retardation of immature rats under conditions of low environmental temp. A significant difference was observed in the effects of "growth hormone" admn. between animals maintained under cold room (2[degree]C) and room temp. (23[degree]C) conditions. "Growth hormone" was without effect on the gain in body wt. of immature rats under cold room conditions, whereas it augmented the wt. increment of animals maintained at room temp. Keywords
