Abstract
A study of the tributyrinase activity of the serum of normotensive, hypertensive, and arteriosclerotic males and females showed that normal males have higher values than normal females, that activity is diminished in the serum of hypertensive and arterio- sclerotic males compared with the normal, while the serum of the females in this group did not show this difference, and that significant statistical difference existed between the means of the hypertensive and arteriosclerotic female groups. This was not the case in the male groups. Keywords
