Abstract
Design parameters and conceptual design features of heating and current drive systems envisaged for the Next European Torus are described. Specifically, injection systems for lower hybrid, ion cyclotron, and electron cyclotron waves as well as for neutral beam systems are discussed. The main issues requiring further research and development efforts are identified. Keywords
