Abstract
The effect of in vitro epinephrine and nor-epinephrine on blood coagulation was measured in collodion-lined glass tubes. It is shown that in vitro epinephrine and nor-epinephrine accelerate the clotting of whole fresh blood from human subjects and dogs. This is inhibited by the addition in vitro of the adrenolytic drug piperi-dylmethyl benzodioxane. It is suggested that the action of in vitro epinephrine and nor-epinephrine on blood coagulation is catalytic in nature. Keywords
