Abstract
Trigons have been studied in relation to the features surrounding them. Certain inalienable characteristics discovered are discussed. The maintenance of these characteristics is possible only if the trigons cannot alter their present dimensions. As etch pits can and do change their dimensions with continued etching, it is established that trigons differ from etch pits in this vital respect and are therefore not etch pits.
