On the recent observation of the hadroproduction of prompt photons

Abstract
The recent observations of prompt photons in hadron collisions are confronted with the predictions of perturbative quantum chromodynamics, with very encouraging results. We discuss the data, and comment on their experimental and theoretical implications.Keywords
