Abstract
A numerical solution of the time-dependent Schrodinger equation for the scattering of protons from hydrogen in the impact parameter approximation is presented. The main feature of the authors approach is an expansion in terms of a basis set of the Hylleraas type, which can be handled easily and universally. The authors discuss the oscillatory tunnelling observed in the time development of the initial hydrogen state and make contact with experiment by the calculation of dominant total cross sections at 2 and 8 keV.Keywords
