Abstract
Normal young rats were injected with extract of the adrenal cortex prepared according to the method of Grollman and Firor, in amounts 2-17 times the requirements for maintenance of young adrenalectomized rats, for 10-30 days. No effects were observed on body growth, gonad growth, onset of puberty, estrous cycle, or course of gestation. Hence the clinical opinion that hyperfunction of the adrenal cortex is the cause of intersexuality or other reproductive abnormalities is not substantiated. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
