Abstract
Thirty-six radial keratotomy eyes underwent reoperation for resultant undercorrections and were analyzed. Reoperations were performed as early as two weeks and as long as 46 months following the initial surgery. At the initial surgery, eight incisions were performed on 32 eyes, and four incisions on the remaining four eyes. Reoperation consisted of the addition of either four or eight incisions. Eyes achieving depth of 70% or greater with the initial surgery obtained minimal additional correction with reoperation (0.58 D mean). Eyes with shallow initial incisions obtained significantly greater correction (2.46 D mean). Eight additional incisions added at the time of reoperation achieved no greater effect than four incisions alone. Keywords
