Abstract
Adrenalec-tomized dogs maintained on a diet free of vitamin C did not develop scurvy. No changes in N metabolism ordinarily resulted when adrenalectomized dogs, receiving a constant amount of cortin, were maintained on a diet free of vitamin C. Marked fluctuations in the N metabolism depended on the amount of cortin injected. Cortin has no appreciable effect in delaying the onset of scurvy, and ascorbic acid is the main factor in preventing scurvy in the guinea pig. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
