Abstract
The medium described consists of an extract of horse-meat, to which is added horse blood, penicillin, and diamidino-diphenylamine-dihydrochloride. It is highly selective for H. pertussis and H. parapertussis, since other organisms are almost completely inhibited. A comparative study was done, in which 264 pernasal swabs from whooping cough suspects were cultured on Bordet-Gengou medium and the one here described. The % of positive isolations was higher on the latter. Keywords
