Abstract
The luminescence emission during polarization reversal in pure BaTiO3 has been investigated. A parallel study of switching and emission light in the temperature range -100°C to 130°C, that contains the four crystallographic phases of the BaTiO3 has been carried out in polydomain and 180-domain samples. Fatigue effects and emission spectra are also presented. The switching is the first step of luminescence and the greater part of this is emitted when the crystal has already switched. Possible mechanisms of the light origin are discussed. Keywords
