Abstract
With the use of the electron spin resonance technique, it is confirmed that the Pd(I) complex ion (PdCl4)3− is formed in γ‐irradiated K2PDCl4 and (NH4)2PdCl4. The chlorine superhyperfine coupling constants and the values for the Pd(I) complex ion are used to obtain the fractional unpaired spin density in the chlorine and orbitals and the crystal field splittings, respectively.
