Abstract
The results of reflectance and transmittance calculation for various single and double layer optical coatings on GaAs solar cells are presented. An optimization technique has been used to calculate the optimum thicknesses of the layers which result in maximum transmission of photons at the GaAs surface taking into consideration the solar spectrum in outer space (air mass zero illumination). The effect of angle of incidence of light is also discussed. The technique used is quite general and could be used for any system of multilayer thin films of absorbing or nonabsorbing type with light incident at any angle. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
