Precise Hybrid Formula for Electromagnetic Mass Differences

Abstract
We present the derivation of a mass formula which relates electromagnetic mass differences of baryons and pseudoscalar mesons and is experimentally accurate within ∼ 2%. The derivation reveals that the new formula is the appropriate hybrid analog to the Coleman-Glashow formula.Keywords
