Diabetic Charcot Joint

Abstract
SINCE Jordan1 first described Charcot's joint in diabetic neuropathy, case reports have sporadically appeared in the literature. To date, at least 13 authors have presented a total of at least 52 cases, and others have commented on this condition without reporting a case. Various clinical manifestations have been described, various etiologies postulated, and various treatments suggested. This paper presents an additional case of diabetic neuropathic arthropathy; the literature is reviewed, and information is brought together. The specific intent of this article is to clarify the clinical manifestations and the therapeutic course to be taken in diabetic neuropathy in Charcot's joint. . . .
