Measurements of Oscillator Strengths for the Transitions from the Metastable 3P Levels of Alkaline-Earth Atoms. I. Strontium

Abstract
Relative oscillator strengths for about 30 transitions from the metastable 5 s 5 p 3 P levels of neutral strontium have been determined by using the hook method. The metastable levels are populated by the DC discharge. The oscillator strengths are placed on an absolute scale by reference to a recent lifetime measurement and relative intensity measurements. Our results are in reasonable agreement with other experimental and theoretical values.
