ON THE CHLORIDE CONTENT IN THERMAL SWEAT OF HYPERTHYROID PATIENTS

Abstract
Epigastric sweat was collected from 11 controls, 7 mildly hyperthyroid and 16 severely hyperthyroid female patients. In 4 of the mildly hyperthyroid patients the BMR was within normal limits but in all of the severe cases it was over + 30%. Thermal sweat contained less chloride than normal in the hyperthyroid group, but the scatter of the points is great, so that the mild cases have 100% overlap and the severe ones have 30% overlap with the normal group.
