Abstract
Experiments are reported according to which both histamine and 5-hydroxytryptamine are involved in the anaphylactic reaction of guinea pig and rabbit, only the former agent in that of the dog, and neither in that of the rat. Splenectomy protects the guinea pig against anaphylactic shock when performed shortly before challenge. Keywords
