Abstract
In an investigation of the relationship between the presence of C-reactive protein (CRP) and the promoting effect of the phagocytosis of leucocytes in an in vitro phagocytosis system containing living pathogenic bacteria, it was found that CRP stimulated phagocytosis of Diplococcus pneumoniae, Staph. aureus, E. coli and Klebsiella aerogenes. It appears that CRP is related to non-specific immunity. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
