Abstract
The influence on switching surges of the lineasymmentry is analysed here by means of the Transient Network Analyzer (T. N. A.). Consideration is given to a 1050 kV line with two different source configurations causing different surge wave shapes. The influence on the results of possible different line simulations is focused and information is given on the number of operations necessary to get a consistent frequency distribution of overvoltages. Keywords
