Abstract
The mean spherical model with continuous pair functions is solved exactly, in the limit of strong coupling, for a -component classical plasma with the -dimensional Coulomb interaction. Exact lower bounds for the one-component plasma correlation energy, which are very effective for arbitrary coupling, are derived.
