Abstract
Dialyzable leukocyte extract (transfer factor, TF) from unselected healthy blood donors was given every other week during 1 year to adult patients with severe atopic dermatitis. The results from this double-blind investigation did not reveal any clinical benefit of TF therapy. Nor did we find evidence for a change in prick tests, RAST, delayed type skin reactivity towards tuberculin and Candida albicans extract, change in IgE levels in serum, distribution of T or B lymphocytes, mitogen reactivity in vitro or monocyte cytotoxicity. Keywords
