Abstract
Various pathogenetic theories on polyp formation have been reviewed and critically analyzed. The authors’ theories have been discussed. It has been argued that demonstration of formation of mucosal edema and tissue pressure does not explain why the polyps arise in one particular place but not in another. Keywords
