Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 42-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of pulmonary infiltrates.He was well until two months previously, when a tender swelling developed abruptly in the left side of the neck. It grew rapidly and was incised and drained. Microscopical examination of the excised material revealed an inflamed branchial-cleft cyst. A culture yielded no growth of micro-organisms. An x-ray film of the chest showed a nodular patchy consolidation in the peripheral portion of the right-lower-lung field. A tuberculin skin test was reported to be negative.
